…Every time we visit our villages and mountain resorts in the Troodos mountains we have a fantastic time! No exaggeration!
The villages are so unique, picturesque and welcoming!
It’s a wonderful experience to visit them and “taste” our Cypriot hospitality, savor our local traditional cuisine, admire the quaint houses and the panoramic views of the mountains, hike the beautiful nature trails, visit traditional museums and fantastic adventure parks!
Bring your camera with you, because no one leaves the Troodos mountains without capturing their beauty on camera. :-)

A brilliant idea is to rent a car and explore the wonderful villages in the Troodos mountains.
You will have a fantastic time out, as the routes (Cyprus Routes) to get to the villages are spectacular!
There are so many villages in the Troodos mountains in the Limassol district we had to divide them by categories.
The categories are…
Omodos, Vouni, Lofou, Arsos, Koilani, Pera Pedi are some of our favorite wine villages in the Troodos mountains. Take a look at our list below of the wine villages in the Limassol district…
Agros is a must-visit mountain resort in Troodos. Also, Kyperounta is another beautiful village.
If you don’t have time to visit all the mountain villages below in the Pitsilia region, at least visit Agros. You will love it!
The villages below produce commandaria/koummandaria, hence “Commandaria Villages”.
(Commandaria/Koummandaria = It is believed to be one of the oldest named wines in the world).
You should definitely visit Pano and Kato Platres. Platres is a very popular holiday mountain resort in the Troodos mountains, especially among the locals.

Palaichori, Farmakas, Alona are some of our favorite villages in the Pitsilia region in the Nicosia district.
Visit Kakopetria in Solea Valley in the Nicosia district and you won’t regret it! Just make sure you visit Old Kakopetria…cobbled narrow streets, wooden balconies, traditional architecture and more. You will love it!
Pedoulas, Kalopanayiotis, Oikos are some of the mountain villages we love in the Marathasa valley! You might want to include them in your itinerary, because, if you do, it’s going to be a wonderful day trip! We know that from our personal experience.
