June, July and August are the months that most of the locals take a break from work for their summer holidays. Beaches during those months are usually crowded.
However, if you visit us during May or September or October you will find that most of the beaches are less crowded.
If you rent a car to tour the island’s beaches either during May or September or October you will find that most beaches are mainly visited by tourists instead of locals.
The majority of the locals go back to work after August.
So plan your trip carefully since during the summer peak season (June, July and August) the beaches are more crowded rather than in the warm months of May, September and October.

Check out Coral Bay beach in Coral Bay Resort in Peyia (Pegeia), Geroskipou Municipal beach in Geroskipou and Laourou (Corallia) beach in Peyia. Also, if you have a car, check out Latchi beach in Latchi, Polis Chrysochous (Polis) Municipal beach in Polis and Lara beach in Akamas peninsula.
To get to the stunning Blue Lagoon beach in Akamas peninsula you need a 4x4 car because the road is rocky and bumpy. Otherwise, book a boat tour from Latchi harbor or a Jeep safari tour.
The water tour or the land tour are the best options to be honest; unless you are an excellent car driver. You have to be an experienced driver to drive all the way to Blue Lagoon beach in Akamas.
Either way you will definitely enjoy your day out and swim in the crystal clear blue waters of Blue Lagoon beach.

Although Nicosia is in the middle (the heart) of the island, if you have a car and you are willing to drive for about 2 and a half hours (from Nicosia city) to the beautiful coastal village of Kato Pyrgos in Nicosia district you will find Omega beach where you can swim and sunbathe.
You will drive through our scenic mountains to get there though…so make sure your car has a full tank of petrol.
