Because Cyprus is more than just sunbathing under the warm sun and swimming in our beautiful blue Mediterranean Sea. It’s also about tradition, culture and picturesque villages that kept their traditional character throughout the years.
Besides, the routes (Cyprus Routes) to get to the villages in the mountains are scenic ones! You will love it!
In the Troodos mountains you will find some of the most picturesque, traditional, quaint, villages on the island (it is highly recommended to check out Troodos villages).
In other words, our island combines both sea and mountains. Beaches and villages.
So, if you want to experience what the island has to offer and get to know our amazing local culture and traditions and see part of the island that most visitors miss – like picturesque, quaint, traditional villages (hospitality at its best!) – you should definitely include in your holiday itinerary some of the villages mentioned below (please see the quick links below).

Honestly, it’s a splendid experience to tour and explore our villages, especially the ones in the Troodos mountains (see Troodos villages). Take it from us that we’ve done it many times and we never get bored to do it again. It’s an adventure that we love to have here on our beautiful island! :-)
Tip
Your itinerary should include (among others) beaches, attractions, villages and road trips around the island – check out Cyprus Routes.
In that way you will get to see and experience what the island has to offer to our visitors. Not only just wonderful beaches but also spectacular mountain views!
If you leave out of your itinerary our picturesque mountain villages it’s like leaving out the “heart” of the island…and the “heart” of the island is our beautiful Troodos mountains with its wonderful mountain villages (Troodos villages).
