Paphos beaches…
Are you looking for the best beaches in the Paphos district in Cyprus?
If so, here you will find our top 3 beaches that we visit every year no matter what.
Why are they on top of our list, you ask?
Here’s why…
Quick links:
Coral Bay beach is in the Coral Bay resort in Peyia (Pegeia) in the Paphos district.
Apart from being a super organized beach, we love Coral bay beach for its golden sand, its shallow, calm, crystal clear blue waters and the water sports it provides :-). This is a blue flag, family friendly beach. If you have kids, you don’t want to miss out spending a day here.
Since Coral bay beach is a famous beach in Paphos it is crowded during the summer months of June, July and August…
…and that’s why we usually visit it during September and October. There are still holiday makers sunbathing and swimming at this wonderful beach but not as many as in the summer months.
Another reason we love Coral Bay beach (not just the beach, we love the whole resort!) is that it’s very easy to access. You can get there either on foot, by car, by bus or by bike.
Latchi beach is a wonderful pebbled beach in Latchi in Polis Chrysochous (also known as Polis) Municipality.
Latchi is also spelled Latsi or Lachi.
We love this pebbled beach because it’s more quiet – if, for example, you compare it with Coral Bay beach – and also because there are taverns right next to the beach serving fish meze :-).
So if we want to have a more relaxed, quiet day Latchi beach is where we would choose for sunbathing and swimming.
In addition, since we love Akamas peninsula, Latchi beach is very close to the Baths of Aphrodite. If you have a 4x4 we recommend you visit the Baths of Aphrodite and from there take the dirt road to tour the Akamas peninsula.
If you don’t have a car, think about booking a Jeep safari tour or a water tour with one of the boats sailing from the Latchi harbor.
…and these are the reasons we love the pebbled beach of Latchi. It’s right next to the taverns and very close to the Baths of Aphrodite and Akamas peninsula and it has a more quiet and relaxed environment.
We love Blue Lagoon beach in Akamas peninsula!
We love the crystal clear blue waters of the beach and the surrounding scenery. Except from sunbathing and swimming, you can go snorkeling too if you like. We love snorkeling! Don’t you? :-)
Usually we take our car (it’s a 4x4) and we take the dirt road in Akamas peninsula where the beach is.
However, having said that, the best way to visit Blue Lagoon beach is by boat which we have done too, apart from going there by car, it’s also a wonderful experience! You have to be an experienced car driver though to drive all the way to the Blue Lagoon. The road is rocky and bumpy.
You can either book a boat tour or why not rent a boat and go there on your own…
…or book a Jeep Safari tour with experienced drivers.
Either way, you will have a lot of fun and a great day out swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling.
…And that wraps up our information on our Top 3 Paphos beaches that we visit every year. We hope you found what you were looking for. :-)
