The best way to tour central Nicosia is on foot (it is recommended to book a guided tour though, because there are plenty of things to learn and places to visit and having a local guide will be very helpful. Besides it will be a lovely day out…and an informative one!).

On the other hand, if you plan to tour the district of Nicosia (e.g. rural villages, etc) then you will need a car (see Cyprus car rentals and Cyprus routes). The mountains of the island are amazing! You don’t want to miss this.
