Limassol Travel: The District of Limassol

The Limassol district is one of the 6 districts of Cyprus located on the south part of the island. The Greek-Cypriot side (the South).

It has the largest port in Cyprus, the Limassol port and therefore it’s a hub for trade and business.

Old Town of Limassol (Lemesos in Greek)

The Old Town of Limassol is a charming town where you can stroll the narrow streets, enjoy traditional Cypriot architecture and visit the Limassol Castle.


Limassol Castle

The Castle is a medieval fortress located in the heart of the Old Town. Inside you will find the Cyprus Medieval Museum and insights into the island’s history.


Limassol Marina

Limassol Marina is a modern development in Limassol city.

It includes restaurants, shops, luxury residences and a marina for yachts.


Limassol Promenade

In Limassol promenade you can walk and jog and enjoy the wonderful views of the Mediterranean Sea.


Wine Festival

Limassol city hosts the annual Limassol Wine Festival exhibiting the island’s wine culture.


Nightlife

Limassol city is well known for its nightlife. The city offers a plethora of clubs, bars, restaurants and pubs.


Popular nightlife destinations are the Old Town and the seafront area.

Some of the traditional wine villages in Limassol district are Arsos, Omodos, Kato Platres, Koilani, Pera Pedi, Mandria, Vasa, Pachna, Anogyra, Lofou, Ayios Amvrosios and Avdimou.

It is recommended to book a guided tour or rent a car and explore these villages on your own at your own pace. It’s a wonderful adventure (experience) that will take you through scenic routes and panoramic views of the mountains.
