The best way to tour Limassol district is by booking a guided
tour or by renting a car.
If you are just visiting the Old Town of Limassol (Lemesos in Greek) then you can stroll down the streets and admire the traditional architecture of these historical buildings.
If you love archaeological sites, then the wonderful archaeological site of Ancient Kourion is a must-visit attraction along with the Sanctuary of Apollon Hylates which is close to Kourion (3km west of Kourion).
Also consider visiting Amathus ruins, an archaeological site in Ayios Tychonas in Limassol. Amathus is one of the significant ancient city-kingdoms of Cyprus.
History awaits you. If you are a history enthusiast, become part of it and you won’t regret it.
The route to Kourion is wonderful and the view from up there is amazing. So make sure you have the camera with you.
Rent a car (to tour Limassol district at your own pace) or book a tour for your visit to Kourion…or get a bus.
Embark on a journey of faith, history and culture. You will be amazed by the buildings and churches of the monasteries.
If you don’t have time to visit all the religious sites then consider visiting the monasteries of Trooditissa (13th century) and Timios Prodromos.
You will be amazed by the scenic routes and the panoramic views as well as by the monasteries themselves.
Do you love classic and collectible automobiles?
If so, then visit Cyprus Motor Museum, which is the only automobile museum in Cyprus.
Do you want to experience the impossible? Then Paradox museum is another unique museum that you might want to visit.
The Limassol Castle, in the heart of the Old Town, houses the Cyprus Medieval Museum. So if you are in the neighborhood you might want to pay it a visit.
Limassol Archaeological Museum accommodates a rich collection of antiquities from the Neolithic age to the Roman period. These antiquities originate from excavations in Limassol district. If you are a history enthusiast pay it a visit.
Are you looking for a beach to sunbathe and relax under the hot sun? Take a look below at the best beaches in Limassol.
Since we love our traditional, picturesque and wonderful villages on the island we thought to include some under this section.
The villages in Limassol district are stunning. In order to tour them all you will need a car (car rentals in Cyprus)…or…
…the other option is to book a tour with a local guide, although it’s not a promise that you will see all these villages below.
If you don’t have time to tour them all, consider including in your itinerary Arsos, Omodos, Vouni, Platres and Lofou. These are very beautiful villages up in the mountains. You won’t regret it.

Last but not least…
Stroll the streets of the Old Town of Limassol and admire the architecture of the buildings. Walk down the Limassol Marina – a modern development – where you can shop and dine in a wonderful environment.
Visit Saripolou Square and the Old port, walk down the Molos (the Limassol promenade), visit the municipal garden and the medieval castle of Kolossi.
If you have kids consider visiting Fasouri Watermania Waterpark for a grand day out.
Last but not least, if you love hiking and nature walks think about visiting Caledonian Waterfall up in the mountains. You will be amazed by the beauty of the trail.
Consider renting a car to visit Caledonian waterfall and Kolossi Castle. Apart from the waterfall which is wonderful, the route to get there is amazing. You will drive through our scenic mountains and through picturesque traditional villages (see Cyprus Routes).
