This 14-day Cyprus itinerary is for those who enjoy driving and wish to explore the inland (the picturesque mountains) and the panoramic coast of the island.

Cyprus is not only sunbathing and swimming in the sea…

…it can also be an unforgettable adventure in the mountains, a wine tasting adventure or a journey of history, culture and faith.

If you follow the 14-day itinerary below, you will do all these, including sunbathing and swimming in the sea :-).


Please note that this 14-day Cyprus itinerary was created having in mind that you will have a rental car as your transport.

So let’s get started…


Cyprus Itinerary: 14 Days Holidaying on The Island

The best way to explore the island is by renting a car. We can’t stress this enough :-).

So if a rental car is in your budget go for it!

Consider booking your rental car months before the day of your arrival. In this way you will save money and have a better chance to find the car of your choice. So plan ahead.

(You will stay 5 days in Paphos, 3 days in Ayia Napa, 2 days in Larnaca, 2 days in Nicosia and 2 days in Limassol).


The nearest legal airport to Paphos is Paphos Airport (PFO). See flights to Cyprus.

14-Day Cyprus Itinerary: Day 1 – Paphos

Today you will explore Kato Paphos and its Archaeological Park (UNESCO) – including the Tombs of the Kings (UNESCO).

We also recommend strolling through the Paphos promenade, visiting the harbor and the castle. They are all within walking distance.

From Kato Paphos head towards Pegeia (Peyia). It’s swimming and sunbathing time in the crystal clear blue sea of Coral Bay.

14-Day Cyprus Itinerary: Day 2 – Paphos

It’s wine tasting day!

Follow Routes 5, 6 or 7 (see Cyprus Routes). These are wine routes in the Paphos district. You will love it, especially the wine! :-)

14-Day Cyprus Itinerary: Day 3 – Paphos

For today consider booking a boat cruise to Blue Lagoon in Akamas…or…

…consider booking a Jeep safari to Akamas. You will have a great day out!

After your excursion, if you have time visit Adonis Baths Waterfalls Theme Park. You will love it!


14-Day Cyprus Itinerary: Day 4 – Paphos

Today you are going to follow Route 4 (see Cyprus Routes).

By following this route, you will explore the beautiful coastal villages of the Paphos district and the picturesque inland of the island (the mountains). It’s a wonderful combination of both sea and mountains. You will love it!

En route you will make a few stops to admire the view and taste delicious local fresh food. Also, you will visit monasteries and admire their unique buildings.

If you decide to embark on a journey following Route 4 we highly recommend an early start in the morning and a full tank of petrol. That’s very important.


14-Day Cyprus Itinerary: Day 5 – Paphos

Your last day in Paphos. It’s relax day!

We recommend heading to Latchi and spending your day there.

Visit the Baths of Aphrodite and have lunch in one of the taverns alongside Latchi beach.

Today is swimming and sunbathing (and snorkeling if you like) time. You will have a blast!


14-Day Cyprus Itinerary: Day 6 – Ayia Napa

Today you are going to visit one of the most famous resorts in Europe…Ayia Napa!

Wake up early in the morning and take the motorway towards Limassol.

From Limassol keep going straight. Take the motorway towards the Larnaca district. From Larnaca take the motorway towards Ayia Napa.

It’s easy to reach Ayia Napa from Paphos, just follow the road signs on the motorway.

Once you reach Ayia Napa, unpack and hit the road again. Visit Ayia Napa monastery, the harbor, Kamara tou Koraka (the Crow’s Arch), the Sea Caves and Ayia Napa Marina.

Now…

…it’s time to hit the beach! :-)

Visit the famous Nissi beach and soak under the sun (see Cyprus beaches or our Top 3 beaches in Ayia Napa for your information).


14-Day Cyprus Itinerary: Day 7 – Ayia Napa

Today it’s exploration time!

You are going to explore Eastern Cyprus by car. For this exploration you will need to follow Route 12 (see Cyprus Routes).

If you don’t wish to visit all the villages in this route, at least make a stop at Paralimni, Protaras and Ayioi Anargyroi in Cape Greko.

In Protaras, we recommend you visit the famous Fig Tree Bay and swim in the warm sea. You will love it there!

For the evening we recommend a stroll through the Ayia Napa harbour or Ayia Napa Marina. If you wish to visit the clubs go to Ayia Napa Square.


14-Day Cyprus Itinerary: Day 8 – Ayia Napa

It’s boat cruise time!

Book a boat cruise from Ayia Napa or Protaras and enjoy the day exploring the East coast of the island.

If you don’t wish to book a boat cruise, then try snorkeling…or…

scuba diving for beginners or certified/licensed divers.


14-Day Cyprus Itinerary: Day 9 – Larnaca

After a long day trying the above activities, we recommend for today having a relax day.

Take the car and head to the motorway towards Larnaca district.

Once in your accommodation, unpack and head to the beach. Go to Finikoudes beach where the sea is shallow and crystal clear. It’s a family friendly beach.

Alongside the beach you will find cafes, restaurants, bars and taverns. You can have your lunch there, if you like.

Spend the day at Finikoudes beach and for the evening we recommend MacKenzie beach.

On MacKenzie beach, the bars and lounges become night clubs in the evening (expect loud music). Try the cocktails there. You will love it!


14-Day Cyprus Itinerary: Day 10 – Larnaca

Today, after a long night, we recommend to take it easy and explore at your own pace the town of Larnaca.

You can either book a walking guided tour or explore it on your own. Either way you will have fun.

If you decide to explore it on your own, we recommend visiting Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque and the Salt Lake which is adjacent to the Mosque. We also recommend strolling the Old Town of Larnaca and familiarize yourself with the place.

At the end if you have time, drive to Faros beach in Pervolia. You will love it there.

14-Day Cyprus Itinerary: Day 11 – Nicosia

It’s another adventure today!

From Larnaca you will head to Nicosia via the mountains. This scenic route (please see below) is a spectacular one. It combines the exploration of the coastal villages of Larnaca district and the wonderful inland of the island.

So start early in the morning with a full tank of petrol.

From Larnaca (Finikoudes) head towards Meneou, Kiti and Mazotos (don’t turn right towards the village of Mazotos, keep going straight along the coastal road). Keep going straight until you find the turn (right turn) towards Agios Theodoros Larnacas.

Take the turn on the right and head towards the village of Agios Theodoros Larnacas. You will pass through the village. Keep going straight until you find the road sign that leads you towards Skarinou.

From Skarinou head towards Lefkara, Vavatsinia, Odou, Farmakas, Apliki, Agios Epifanios, Malounta, Arediou, Deutera.

Follow the road signs to Nicosia (Lefkosia).

Please see the map below for your information. The route on the map starts from Finikoudes (Larnaca) and follows the instructions above. It ends at the City Centre of Nicosia.


Once in your hotel room, unpack and rest.

For the evening we recommend strolling around Ledra Street, Eleftherias Square and Laiki Geitonia.

There are restaurants, cafes, bars and taverns there (Ledra Street and Laiki Geitonia) where you can have your dinner and a glass of Cyprus wine. Enjoy :-)


14-Day Cyprus Itinerary: Day 12 – Nicosia

For today we recommend a Segway tour :-).

It’s a fun way to see the town of Nicosia during the day.

Once you finish your Segway tour we recommend checking out Nicosia attractions to fill up your day.

In case you don’t wish to take a Segway tour, we recommend booking a walking guided tour.

We would also suggest a visit to Ayios Herakleidios Monastery in Politiko. It’s only about 25-30 minutes away by car – depending on the traffic.

The nuns there are very friendly. Please make sure you wear proper clothing though for your visit in the monastery.

Proper clothing = long sleeves and long skirts for women. Long trousers for men.


14-Day Cyprus Itinerary: Day 13 – Limassol

Today you are going to head to Limassol.

From Nicosia take the motorway towards Limassol. Keep driving straight until you reach Limassol district.

Once in your hotel room, unpack and hit the road again. Today you will visit the Commandaria wine villages in Limassol district. Follow Route 9 (see Cyprus Routes) for this wine adventure. You will love it!

When you come back, if you have time, hit the beach!

For the evening we recommend strolling the Limassol Promenade admiring the views of the Mediterranean Sea.

14-Day Cyprus Itinerary: Day 14 – Limassol

Your last day on the island. We hope you enjoyed your stay so far!

Today you are going to visit Kourion Archaeological Site. The route to get there and the view from the archaeological site are stunning…

…and since you have a car it will be easy for you to get to Kourion (Curium).

Also, consider visiting Kolossi castle. It’s well worth it.
