Cyprus Itinerary: 5 Days Holidaying on The Island

In spite of the fact that you are visiting for only 5 days, there are quite a few things you can see and do during your short getaway.

Please note that we have created the following itinerary having in mind that you will have a rental car as your transport.

Whether you are landing at Larnaca Airport (LCA) or Paphos Airport (PFO) consider booking your rental car months before the day of your arrival to the island. In this way you will save money and you are more likely to find the car of your choice.

So let’s start…

(You will stay 2 days in Paphos, 2 days in Ayia Napa and 1 day in Larnaca).

The nearest legal airport to Paphos is Paphos Airport (PFO). See flights to Cyprus.

5-Day Cyprus Itinerary: Day 1 – Paphos

Visit Kato Paphos Archaeological Park (UNESCO), the harbor, the castle and stroll the Promenade of Kato Paphos. They are all within walking distance. Alongside the promenade you will find restaurants and cafes to relax.

See Paphos attractions for your information.

(There is a car park just outside the Archaeological Park for your rental car).

Time to get back to the car and drive towards the Tombs of the Kings. Visit the Tombs and after that head towards Pegeia (Peyia) to Coral Bay beach.

Mountains time!

Today you will explore the picturesque inland of the island, the charming mountain wine villages and the beautiful monasteries.

Check out Routes 4, 5, 6 and 7 (see Cyprus Routes). Choose which route you wish to follow.

We recommend Route 4 as it combines coastal and mountain villages. It’s a long route so embark on your journey early in the morning with a full tank of petrol.

From Kato Paphos head towards Pegeia and from Pegeia take the road to Polis Chrysochous (Polis). If you like you can stop in Polis to unwind and continue your journey towards Pomos.

From Pomos take the road to Agios Raphael (Saint Raphael). Make a stop there at the church and admire the view from the hill.

From Agios Raphael head towards Kato Pyrgos – a coastal village in Nicosia (Lefkosia in Greek) district. Make a stop in Kato Pyrgos and enjoy the scenery and the local hospitality.

From Kato Pyrgos head towards the Cedar Valley (expect panoramic views) and from there take the road to Kykkos monastery…a must-stop. Explore the monastery and Throni of Panagia and take the road back to Paphos (Pafos in Greek) via Cedar Valley.

Route 4 is a long route but you will enjoy it if you love nature…and driving! :-)
