Ayia Napa (Cyprus) attractions…
…Are you planning your trip to the most exquisite resort in Cyprus and in Europe and you are looking for attractions to visit?
If this is the case, then you are on the right site.
The wonderful resort of Ayia Napa is widely known for its nightlife (drinking and dancing all night long until dawn :-)) and its famous beaches (see Best Beaches in Cyprus).
However, there are quite a few attractions to visit because Ayia Napa is not only lively vibrant nightlife and stunning beaches.
So let’s start…
Quick links:
The best way to tour Ayia Napa is by renting a quad or a buggy or a scooter or even a car.
If you decide to rent one, please be reminded that we drive on the left side of the road. So please be careful. Keep it left and you will be fine :-)
If renting an automobile is not in your plans, then consider booking a water tour. The boats’ captains and staff are very friendly and entertaining. You will enjoy the experience!
The lovely medieval monastery of Ayia Napa is in the middle of the village and was built in the form of a Medieval Castle around 1500 AD.
Ayia Thekla and Ayios Georgios are two charming churches that are worth a visit.
Ayioi Anargyroi church is located in cape Cavo Greko from where you can have a spectacular view of the Mediterranean Sea.
If you don’t have time to visit all religious sites, include in your itinerary at least Ayia Napa monastery which is in the middle of the village and Ayioi Anargyroi church. You will love it! :-)
The most popular beach in Ayia Napa is Nissi beach. No doubt about it!
Below you will find several beaches in Ayia Napa worth paying a visit.
If you don’t have time to visit them all, then consider swimming and sunbathing on Nissi beach, Makronissos beach and Ayia Thekla beach.
The WaterWorld Themed Waterpark in Ayia Napa is a multi award winning waterpark and one of the biggest themed waterparks in Europe.
The biggest and most popular attraction in the Parko Piliatso Luna Park is the Sling Shot which has the highest ejection seat ride in Europe.
If you are coming to Cyprus with your family and you intend to visit Ayia Napa, then consider including both the waterpark and Parko Paliatso in your itinerary. You will have a blast!
Sea caves, cape Cavo Greko and the Love Bridge are must-visit attractions in Ayia Napa.
Consider renting a quad or a buggy or a scooter or a car to tour Cape Cavo Greko and Cavo Greko National Park.
Should we rent a car or a quad, you ask?
Well…if we take into account that in the summer, temperatures can reach well over 40⁰ Celsius during the day and the sun is burning hot, we would recommend renting a car because you will be able to use the A/C (air condition).
On the other hand, if you don’t mind the burning sun in summer, then you might want to rent a quad or a buggy. It’s a fun way to tour Ayia Napa.
Last but not least…
…have a romantic dinner in the Ayia Napa harbor or dance until dawn in one of Ayia Napa’s famous nightclubs.
Sculpture Park, Ayia Napa Square and Thalassa museum are attractions that you might want to pay a visit.
Ayia Napa Marina is a modern development that most definitely is worth your time. Pay it a visit and you won’t regret it!
If you are renting a car for your holiday in Ayia Napa, consider including in your itinerary the wonderful resort of Protaras and the beautiful holiday village of Paralimni. They are only a few minutes away by car from Ayia Napa (see Protaras Attractions).
Although Ayia Napa is renowned for its stunning golden sandy beaches and its nightclubs, it still remains a family-friendly resort. Any family can have a blast in Ayia Napa!
…And that’s the end of Ayia Napa (Cyprus) attractions.
So have you planned your itinerary, yet? :-)
